She is one of the tridevis alongwith Parvathi and Lakshmi.
Saraswathi is usually depicted in a seated posture, with four arms – holding a book/script, lotus, beads and a pot of sacred water. The four hands represent four aspects of human personality in learning: mind, intellect, alertness, and ego
Her sacred vehicle (vahana) is the swan.
She is the goddess who bestows human beings with the powers of speech, wisdom, and learning.
