A magnificient stone carving of Buddha in Bhumisparsa Mudra, commonly called as Earth Witness mudra.
“Bhumisparsha” meaning “Touching the Earth”.
The mudra is done by placing the right hand upon the right knee with five fingers extending to touch the ground, while the left hand is kept flat in the lap in dhyana mudra.
The mudra symbolizes Buddha’s enlightenment under the Bodhi tree, when he called for Sthavara, the earth goddess to be the witness for his attainment of enlightenment.
The statue is a work of skillful craftsmanship which is certain to bring in a zen feel in any surrounding where it is installed.
