Lakshmi, the Goddess of wealth, fortune, power, beauty, fertility and prosperity, the wife of Lord Vishnu the Preserver.
She is depicted as an elegantly dressed, enchanting woman standing or siting in the padmasana position upon a lotus throne, with four hands, holding a lotus in the upper hands, symbolising fortune, self-knowledge, and spiritual liberation, while the lower hands are in abhaya, varada or jnana mudra.
